Museum Library & Archives

The Museum's Library and Archives contain a large range of material that can assist in your research, whether academic or for personal interest. The collection includes:

• Reference books covering local history, natural history, art and general historical works
• Historical photographs
• Maps
• Postcards
• Periodicals
• Newspapers
• Documents such as the ledgers of Cubitt & West Estate Agents covering c.1890-1970

We have experienced volunteer archivists and librarians who can assist you with your enquiry. Please ring or email in advance for enquiries on specialist subjects so that we can conduct any necessary research before your visit.

If you have made use of our Library and Archive service, and feel able to do so, we would be grateful to receive a donation. You can donate in person when you visit by cash or by card, or online via the PayPal link on our homepage.
