A chance to meet soldiers from 1914 (members of the Great War Society), & learn about the uniform, equipment & weapons of the British Army at the outbreak of the First World War

The Guildburys Theatre Company present this wonderful 'Scottish Play' in the grounds of the Museum, bring a picnic and enjoy the wonderful views prior to the show.

During the Great War many medals were awarded. Learn a little about these medals and the plaques also given. Then design and make your own using various methods

Discover the magic of creating a picture from lots of small pieces. See Roman tesserae and come right up to the modern day by helping create a giant mosaic using Lego bricks.

Trench Art
During the Great War, soldiers would often spend lulls in the fighting making artworks from the things they found around them, continuing a tradition of prisoner of war art and scrimshaw. Have a go at making your own artwork from candles or matchsticks.

Wish You Were Here
In the best tradition of holiday postcards, come along to the Museum and make your own comic postcards. Make your own props and use our 'photobooth' to create funny pictures and then use these images as the basis for the card.

Falconry Display
The FalconHigh Display Team will be here at 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm to give interactive flying displays. Children and adults can safely experience, at close quarters, the beauty of these birds in flight. With talks and static cisplay so you can experience rear close-up encounters with these beautiful birds.
