A 2300 year old Egyptian mummy

Just one of the many exciting exhibits on display in this gallery is our Egyptian Mummy called Pa-Er-Abu. He is thought to be 2300 years old and you can see his blackened toes peeping out at the end of his wrappings. See an Egyptian sarcophagus with its fascinating inscriptions and look closely at the mummified cat and crocodile. Come and see our Roman artefacts from ancient Pompeii.

A wide selection of pre-history artefacts will be on display including prehistoric axes and flints. View our internationally recognised peasant art collection from Europe which includes textiles, ceramics, wood carvings and painted canvases.
