Volunteering at the Museum

Do you want to learn new skills, meet new people and support the Museum? We could not run the Museum without the vital contribution made by our volunteers. We need volunteers to help in the Museum shop and reception - if you are interested please download a volunteer application form, ask for an application form or contact:

Museum Volunteers

"The role of our volunteers is to support the Museum, bringing enthusiasm and community involvement into the heart of what we do."

Haslemere Museum has a long tradition of volunteer support. We are lucky to have over 100 active volunteers who are involved in all aspects of running the Museum from greeting our visitors, providing educational workshops for children to cataloging collections and gardening. The Museum couldn't provide its services to the community and preservation of cultural heritage without their support.

If you are interested in volunteering at Haslemere Museum please get in touch via the contact form.

The volunteers at Haslemere Educational Museum have been awarded the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award given to local groups to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. The award is equivalent to the MBE for a voluntary group.

In 2002 Haslemere Museum commissioned the 'Volunteers Window' to celebrate the immense contribution made by volunteers to the life of the Museum. The spectacular stained glass panels, designed and executed by Rachel Mulligan, depict some of the wildlife found in the Museum's grounds.
