Mary Gibson Sampler Chart

This beautiful work of art was originally created in England 1824 during the reign of King George IV. Mary's verse starts: "Gold and silver is but dross and soon will fade away, But virtue in a virgins breast will have the longer stay", "Love God with all your soul and strength, with all your heart and mind, and love your neighbour as yourself, be faithful just and kind. Deal with another as you have another deal with you. What your unwilling to receive be sure you never do". "Mary Gibson" "Work Aged 11 1824".
