Our human history collection has artefacts from all the key British historical periods, from the Stone Age to the Victorian era. It also has two prominent collections, the Ancient Egyptian and the European Peasant Art collection.
Our Natural History collection is our most extensive. It has some magnificent taxidermy specimens, including Museum mascot, Arthur the bear, and collections of butterflies, shells and plant specimens from all over the world.
This collection contains fine examples of many rocks, minerals and fossils, including some fascinating ichthyosaur fossils and insects beautifully preserved in amber, as well as interactive displays and sounds.
