Description:
A cotton runner, or table runner made of two possible sleeve lengths joined together. Ref: 'Bulgaria: tradition and beauty' edited by Elizabeth I. Kwasnik, publisher National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside c1989, see page showing costume with 'elbetitsa' design on woman's sleeves.This piece has twelve large motifs embroidered in red, enclosing yellow and blue cross-hatched motifs. Borders, folded back, embroidered in black/red bands.
