Description:
Hand woven towel in heavy linen. Borders are embroidered with stylised three-masted sailing ships in blue, brown, yellow, pink and green silk. Pulled thread work. Hem crudely sewn and narrow border of what look like small aeroplanes, possibly stylised birds. Around 1900/early 20th century. Albania or Turkey.
